"My Warriors -2 "

The work links La Casa Elizalde with the disappearing Elizalde factory, located on the island of Eixample bounded by the Sant Joan passage and the streets Bailèn, Corssega and Rosselló. During the Civil War, the factory was nationalized and reoriented to the production of Bellic material, as well as to the construction of the Russian M25 engine of the Republican aviation, which is why the factory was one of the military objectives of the national side. In 1937, workers built an anti-aircraft shelter in the basement of the factory with two entrances and decontamination zones.
"Basement -2" is built from the sound recording of a performance by choreographer InMotus conducted in this shelter, an action that seeks to activate the memory and historical trace of this place through the exploration of its architecture and acoustics by means of the body and movement. The register is presented in a warehouse in La Casa Elizalde where there is a small access door that leads to the basement of the building, which during the Civil War could have also been used as an anti-aircraft shelter by the family. The action connects through sound two historically linked spaces, both located underground and currently inaccessible to the public, and invites us to think about the past and historical memory as a substrate, as a buzz that reaches us from the depths.
